Perfect for pint-sized campers, the Helinox Chair One Mini Camping Chair delivers big in the comfort department. Ultralight, compact, and collapsible it packs down to 3 x .54 x 10.5 inches into its included bag, and weighs just 1 pound for easy portability. The collapsible chair’s frame is made from proprietary aluminum alloy, for a maximum strength-to-weight ratio, and supports up to 200 pounds, so adults can use it as a small seat or stool. The removable chair seat and zippered carrying case are made from ultra-durable, UV-resistant, 600-weave, rip-stop polyester that holds up to harsh weather and the sun’s rays. Both the chair seat and the carry sack are easily machine washable (line dry). Setup is easy and fast thanks to a single internal bungee cord that self-assembles the poles. The assembled chair has a seat height of 7.5 inches, seat width of 15.5 inches, seat depth of 13 inches, and overall height of 17 inches. I love these mini chairs for my average size 2 and 4.5 year old boys. The 4.5 year old is pictured. I wouldn’t dare sit in it myself! We use these for them when camping or fishing, but we get even more random use since they’re small enough to permanently store them in the SUV tucked behind their seats. For instance, the Airbnb table was fancy so I pulled out these seats so they could eat comfortably at an end table instead. I’m glad I got these while they’re young because they should be good for these types uses for most of their childhood.

My dad had the original so when I decided to get a backpacking chair myself I went with the mini. I’m 5’3” 140lb and I could hardly fit in it. I sent it back and spent the extra $30 to get the original.

During outdoor activities we noticed our 2 year trying to climb in various chairs we had and failing or falling off. This chair solves that and the kid loves it. It seems durable enough to last for years. The fabric is soft but strong and the aluminum supports are easy to setup and take down. The darker version of the fabric stays clean better but soaks up the hot sun more than this version.

It would be good for 2-10 year olds depending on their height. For a year we have taken it camping, fishing and hiking as it’s light and keeps the kid off the ground. It weighs almost nothing, is durable and packs small. A 2 year old can pick up the chair and move it wherever they want to sit.

If you’re an adult you will probably not like this chair for yourself. It’s like sitting in a kindergarten chair, you can do it but it’s not comfortable. If you’re an adult with a child you will love this chair for them.

Nach dem ersten Auspacken und Aufstellen war ich doch überrascht, wie mini ‚Mini‘ wirklich ist. Na gut, Anschaffungsgrund war ja auch das eher spontane iwo kurz! mal dazuhocken können bei urbanen Events in einem - pandemiebedingt - selbstgewählten Abstand. Also Mitnahme den ganzen Abend auf Verdacht, ohne dass das Ding dabei zur Last fällt.

Das kann er in der Realität schon mal ziemlich gut, und das obwohl ich gleich zwei davon im Rucksack hatte. Was mich im Ausseneinsatz dann jedoch vor allem überraschte, war das Fehlen jedweder Druckpunkte beim Sitzen! Das Ding sitzt so knalleng, und trotzdem: Ich wäre ja schon mit zwanzig Minuten halbwegs erträglichem Sitzen zufrieden gewesen. Aber, was soll ich sagen, für seine Winzigkeit - gemütlich! Sogar mit Anlehnmöglichkeit! Und der Griff zum Bier geht Dank tiefergelegtem Fahrwerk hier auch nicht ziellos nach iwo unten sondern eher schräg nach vorn. Ich glaube nach einer Stunde habe ich mich das erste Mal wieder aus meinem Sitz geschält, und das ohne Verspannung, dafür - sehr relaxed!
Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächsten Einsatzmöglichkeiten.

Körperformtechnisch würde ich mich als normalen Mitteleuropäer beschreiben, durchaus relevant bei so einem Design im Grenzbereich des Möglichen. Außer dem Minichair (jawoll!) empfehle ich in diesem Zusammenhang auch die Lektüre der weiter unten stehenden fremdländischen Rezensionen, da einige ungewollt auf witzigste Weise hiesige Vorurteile bestätigen…
