Overall Ive been very happy with this smoker, but ive only scratched the surface. Ive smoked a turkey, salmon, and wings. All have been incredible. It should be noted that a pellet grill is much different than a typical gas or charcoal grill. Be aware there are burnout situations and other situations where the pellets can burn up the auger and create annoying situations where you have to stop, pull everything out and clean the grill with a vacuum. Yes, youll want to purchase a fireplace vacuum if you dont already have one. All that said, ive pretty happy with this smoker so far.

This grill is so overrated and I got sucked in like a sucker. I sold my Green Egg to buy this and regret every minute of it. I have cooked several things and for some reason the meat has zero flavor. I over cooked a Boston butt following the recipe exactly. I do like the convenience but other than that not worth the price. I’ll try a few more things and if it doesn’t come out the way I expect it to, it’s going on Craigslist.

This is a great outdoor oven, but sadly not a smoker. Only has start up smoke, not periodically either. Talked to Traeger rep, said lower cap. I did, just slightly, still had gap. Burned paint outside and inside. It left ring on meat, just no smoke flavor. I'm out!
